TV Presenting Career
Sally joined the TV industry at the age of 21 working as a media graduate in BBC News & Current Affairs. A popular team player from the get go, she was handpicked to join the production of the top rating “Question Time”, then a weekly live show. This saw her working alongside dynamic programme makers who were infinitely passionate about their work and this sparked her confidence to follow her dream career of becoming a TV Presenter. After a stint on “Public Eye” where she met her fantastically organised future business partner Viki Ainsworth, she landed her first presenting job fronting a BBC Education programme called “Go 4 5” for BBC 2 where she was talent spotted by the Head of Children’s BBC and invited to Television Centre to host her first big budget studio show called “Tricks ’n Tracks” with a sizeable tea time audience to match. Then followed an impressive twelve year run fronting many factual adventure series for CBBC including the multi award winning “It’ll Never Work” science show, “Record Breakers” with Linford Christie and top rating gameshow “50/50”.
Alongside her CBBC work, she presented a wide variety of network prime time Entertainment, Factual and Daytime Lifestyle shows right across the channels. These included “MovieWatch” for Channel 4. “Real Rooms”, “The Really Useful Show”, “Holiday” and the “National Lottery” for BBC 1. She was a regular ‘live’ roving reporter for GMTV and presented “The Mountain Bike Show”, “Disney Adventures”, “The Scoop” and “Moving Day” all for ITV as well as numerous series of “Our House” and “Pulling Power” for Carlton TV, Arts & Entertainment Show “NB” for STV, “Game for It” with Steve Backshall for The National Geographic Channel, “The UK’s Strongest Man” for Sky Sports and UK School Games for Channel 4. Most recently she devised, co-produced and starred in a landmark 10 part documentary series about dating for UKTV Style called “How to Find a Husband…and what to do if you can’t”, an immersive piece which sold on through the BBC to many territories around the world.
As well as TV presenting, Sally has also hosted many high profile ‘live’ events including government conferences, charity fundraisers, balls and banquets for important causes like Maggie’s Cancer Care, Breast Cancer Care, Chas, Muir Maxwell Trust, The Edinburgh and Glasgow Children’s Hospitals - gala dinners for the Police and the Chambers of Commerce plus televised award ceremonies and press awards, commentating at ‘live’ sporting events and presenting many videos for leading corporate brands such as Canon, Volvo, BMW, boots, Barclays, Sainsbury’s, Honda, Vodafone andCamelot.
